Mechanical Engineer – Refinery EPC Projects USA I am seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for major refinery EPC projects. This role offers exposure to large scale downstream developments, supporting high-value mechanical equipment across the full project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities - Deliver mechanical engineering support across FEED, detailed design, procurement, and construction phases - Prepare and review engineering deliverables including equipment specifications, datasheets, technical requisitions, and SDRLs - Lead and perform Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) and prepare detailed evaluation reports - Review and approve vendor documentation (VCDs) for both complex and standard equipment packages - Ensure all deliverables comply with project specifications, P&IDs, refinery codes/standards, and safety/reliability requirements - Interface with multidisciplinary teams including process, piping, civil/structural, EICT, and construction teams to resolve technical issues - Liaise with clients, licensors, and regulatory authorities to secure design approvals and ensure compliance - Support subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely and compliant document submission - Participate in mechanical design reviews, calculations, and system integration activities - Provide support during construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases Requirements - Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline - Minimum 6 years’ experience in mechanical engineering within refinery, petrochemical, or downstream EPC projects - Strong experience with rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps, turbines, and associated auxiliary systems - Experience with static equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, tanks, and fired heaters - Familiarity with brownfield modifications, revamps, and greenfield refinery developments preferred - Knowledge of international codes and standards such as API, ASME, and ANSI - Proven ability to work independently on engineering deliverables and vendor management Please reach out to me at - chris.kellie@ablyresources.com

  • Oversee and manage external legal counsel as required.
  Candidate Profile:
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience (post admission to the Malaysian Bar).
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Oil and Gas.
  • Must be analytical and able to work independently.
  • A team player, possess communications and leadership skills.
  • Possess good negotiation skills.
  • Fluent in oral & written English.
  • Experienced in oil and gas industry.
