Document Controller - London
Refinery Project
I've an opportunity for a Document Controller to be based in London supporting the construction of a Refinery in North Africa. The position will be based between the contractor and client offices, with the execution of the project in the early stages. The Refinery will have a capacity of 30,000 bblpd of crude per day, producing various conventional refined products. Start date available ASAP with an expected project duration of 3+ years.
Requirements:
5+ years experience in Document Control
Previous Oil and Gas construction experience with a major preference for Refinery and other Downstream Projects.
Must be commutable to Central London
Must have own Right to Work in the UK

Project Overview
The role is for a major production sustainability project in Qatar, focusing on the design and engineering of offshore platforms.
Key Responsibilities
1. Structural Design & Analysis
- Lead engineering and design of offshore structures (jackets and topsides)
- Perform structural analysis using industry-standard tools
- Optimise layout and configuration of steel frameworks
2. Jacket Engineering
- Design and analyse offshore jackets
- Ensure stability, weight, and load distribution requirements are met
- Coordinate with installation teams for optimisation
3. Topside Structural Design
- Engineer structural layouts for topside facilities
- Collaborate with other disciplines for integrated design
- Ensure ease of maintenance and safety compliance
4. Material Selection & Specifications
- Define appropriate materials for offshore structures
- Prepare detailed material specifications
5. Environmental Load Calculations
- Perform calculations for wind, wave, and seismic impacts
- Use advanced modelling techniques for simulations
- Ensure compliance with international design codes
6. Interdisciplinary Coordination
- Work with other engineering disciplines
- Participate in design reviews
- Coordinate with installation teams
7. Offshore Installation Support
- Provide technical support during installation
- Conduct on-site inspections
8. Review & Modification
- Review and revise structural designs
- Perform clash detection and interface analysis
9. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare engineering documentation and reports
- Maintain organized records
10. Compliance & Standards
- Adhere to industry standards and best practices
- Incorporate safety features into designs
- Ensure environmental and safety regulation compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 5+ years experience in offshore platform structural design
- Proficiency in structural analysis software
- Knowledge of offshore design codes and standards
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with offshore projects in the Middle East
- EPC or EPCI project experience
- Familiarity with corrosion-resistant alloys for offshore applications

Primary Purpose of the Job:
Perform technical reviews of industrial processes, prepare engineering calculations and analysis, and manage Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) and energy inventories for company facilities. Provide technical advice on energy efficiency, climate change issues, and corporate sustainability targets. Support the management of climate change projects and ensure compliance at the facilities.
Principal Accountabilities:
-Support the development of standards and methodologies for corporate GHG emissions and energy inventories.
-Maintain and validate GHG emission and energy inventories for management access and corporate reporting.
-Support the assessment of cost-effective technologies to improve environmental performance in line with sustainability strategies.
-Conduct technical-economic studies to promote energy efficiency and climate change mitigation in line with sustainability goals.
-Coordinate with operational and engineering teams to identify carbon credit-generating projects for participation in international carbon markets.
-Provide technical advice on international climate change laws, regulations, and carbon markets for decision-making.
-Convert sustainability strategies into implementation plans for facilities.
-Conduct on-site inspections of emission sources and abatement technologies, evaluate compliance, and provide guidance on industry best practices.
-Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on climate change, GHG mitigation, energy efficiency, and compliance.
-In-depth knowledge of climate change agreements, laws, and carbon credit markets.
-Strong analytical and report-preparation skills.
-Experience with air quality modeling is desirable.

Primary Purpose:
The Senior Environmental Engineer provides support to projects ensuring compliance with governmental environmental regulations and internal safety and health standards.
This role is responsible for overseeing environmental aspects of project execution from engineering design to installation, commissioning, and handover. The engineer ensures adherence to environmental standards and safety processes throughout all phases of project development.
Key Responsibilities:
-Ensure project compliance with local environmental laws and company standards.
-Provide technical support during engineering design, construction, and commissioning.
-Develop and implement environmental management plans and safety strategies.
-Review and endorse environmental impact assessments, baseline surveys, and risk assessments.
-Lead environmental workshops, assessments, and audits to ensure alignment with project scope and regulatory permits.
-Monitor contractor compliance with environmental management systems during project execution.
-Support development activities and mentor local talent.
Qualifications and Experience:
-B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
