Job Description:
Technical Leadership
• Geological Operations: Lead, supervise, review and conduct fit for purpose geological and subsurface evaluation and data acquisition program for Exploration and Development drilling campaigns. This is to ensure compliance with the agreed objectives of maximizing the reserves addition and achieving operational excellence.
• Operational Execution & Intervention: Lead, supervise, review, and conduct technical assurance/solutions in operations during Exploration and Development drilling campaigns. This is to ensure continuous drilling operations in accordance to the highest HSE standards within the approved budget whilst seeking to save time and optimize costs.
Consultancy
• Subsurface Data Integrity: Lead, supervise, review, and conduct the provision of solutions to ensure the integrity of subsurface data and sample acquisition during the drilling operations at the drill site according to the highest industry standards.
Technical and Professional Excellence
• Data and Service Providers Management: Lead, supervise, and conduct the review of documentation of pre-drill, during drilling and post drill reporting to ensure that the documentation of Exploration and Development drilling campaigns are auditable for future records and according to highest standards that meet the host authority regulations. Provide sound technical inputs regarding latest analytical and digital technologies to enhance the quality of data acquisition from Service Providers.
• Networking with internal and external technical experts for continuous technical development and advancement.
• Lead, participate, and contribute to Community of Practices (CoP) / Improvement Working Group (IWG) for Geological Operations.
Technical Talent Development
• Capability Development: Mentor and coach junior staff in different aspects of Geological Operations and Subsurface Evaluation and conduct internal technical sharing sessions. • Lead, supervise and review the development/enhancement of technical capability development tools for Geological Operations e.g. Technology Inventory & Ruler (TI&R), Skill Inventory & Ruler (SI&R), and Skill Development Matrix (SDM).
• Conduct technical assessment for Geological Operation staff.
Qualification:

Technical Leadership
•Lead, review and endorse pore pressure studies. Guide data QC, edit and integrate all data relevant to pore pressure.
•Conduct and supervise interpretations of pore pressure in wells being drilled, based on all available data such as LWD (GR, density, sonic and resistivity) logs, drilling gas trends, drilling parameters, events and observations, and direct calibration data in the form of kicks or direct pressure measurements.
•Lead, review and endorse wellbore stability geomechanical projects. Establish internally consistent geomechanical models, including static and dynamic rock elastic and strength properties, geological stress and pore pressure.
•Design and supervise laboratory rock mechanics analysis. Recommend various rock test types, QC their output results, and their geomechanical related applications. Identify sand production issues and, lead and deliver reliable models.
•Collaborate with Production Technologists to mitigate the effects of sand production. Build a sand production prediction model, identify intervals of risk and critical drawdown pressures throughout production cycle.
Consultancy
•Provide technical consultation, evaluation and recommendation for fit-for-purpose solutions, methodologies and work-processes in pore pressure and geomechanics.
•Lead application of Base, Key and Pacing technologies to create innovative solutions to enhance efficiencies at OPU as well as SKG level in geomechanics and pore-pressure.
•Ensure and endorse the quality and completeness of technical works executed by technical teams that produce pore pressure and geomechanics deliverables, and affirm its compliance to the clients Technical Standard (PTS) and the clients Exploration Management System (PEMS) processes.
Technical and Professional Excellence
•Conduct detailed 3D reservoir geomechanical modeling and simulation for surface subsidence, reservoir compaction, fault stability and caprock integrity.
•Participates/ leads CoP and IWG. Introduces/adopts best practices. Holds positions in professional bodies/external committees. Contributes to higher learning institution. •QC pre-drill and real-time geomechanical evaluations carried out by partners, contracts and service companies.
Technical Talent Development
•Lead team development that will enhance and sustain staff capabilities in achieving high performance delivery and ensure internalization of required leadership skills and technical capabilities. •Develop and review technical capability development tools, e.g. Technology Inventory & Ruler (TI&R), Skill Inventory & Ruler (SI&R) and Skill Development Matrix (SDM).
•Develop training requirements and modules and conduct training.
•Act as a coach to develop all geoscientists and lead training requirements & modules and conduct technical training as required.
Qualification:

In this role, you will lead and perform geophysical data interpretation and evaluation, driving optimal reservoir evaluation for E&P activities and projects.
As Principal of Reservoir Geophysics you will:
• Drive the acquisition of new technologies to enhance the pace and efficiency of delivering reservoir solutions for E&P projects.
• Develop and lead cross-reference integration among all geophysical disciplines, including seismic acquisition, processing and imaging, quantitative interpretation, and geomatics.
• Supervise and review technical evaluations and proposals for discovered resource opportunities and appraisal potential.
Your experience will be pivotal to the ongoing success of the business. We will expect you to provide leadership, advice, and review on geophysical interpretation, time-depth conversion, structural mapping, and multi-seismic attribute work, contributing to reservoir mapping or static model building in development/FDP projects, FFR, and EOR projects.
You’ll also scope and advise on reservoir characterization studies, such as seismic attribute analysis, AVO, and seismic inversion results, ensuring technical reliability and integrity for resource assessment, exploration of new potential hydrocarbon accumulation, well placement optimization, and asset acquisition evaluation.
Part of your role with involve implementing and reviewing geophysical data applications in formulating Field Development Plans (FDP) and Full Field Review (FFR) studies. You’ll provide geological and geophysical technical assurance and audit for Value Assurance Reviews (VAR) and Annual Review Petroleum Resources (ARPR) in accordance with industry standards.
There will also be the requirement to lead and present technical papers at domestic and international conferences to promote and share our best practices in reservoir geophysics.
Part of your remit will also involve the development of the next generation of Reservoir & Geophysics talent including coaching and developing the technical capabilities and talent pools on technical expertise, advising on the acquisition and replication of technology and best practices to maintain the company’s global competitive advantage.
Establish and review technical capability development tools in Training Programs aligned with current industry practices and technologies.
Act as a coach/mentor to guide staff in their holistic professional development.
