Senior Structural Designer (S3D) – Offshore

We’re supporting a leading global engineering organisation in the search for an experienced Senior Structural Designers to join their offshore engineering team.

This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale offshore energy projects, taking ownership of structural modelling, design deliverables and multidisciplinary coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

The Role

As a Senior Structural Designer, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality 3D structural models and engineering documentation while supporting engineering teams across complex offshore developments.

Key Responsibilities:

– Develop accurate and detailed 3D structural models for offshore projects.

– Produce high-quality drawings and technical documentation to project schedules.

– Review and check design deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.

– Coordinate with engineering and design disciplines throughout project execution.

– Support engineering teams by providing practical, efficient design solutions.

– Assist with material take-offs and bill of quantity preparation.

– Supervise and mentor junior designers where required.

– Participate in client, supplier and internal technical meetings.

– Provide technical support during fabrication, construction and offshore installation activities when required.

– Contribute to tender submissions, resource planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

– Technical Diploma or equivalent qualification.

– 15+ years’ experience in offshore structural design and project execution.

– Extensive experience using Hexagon Smart 3D (S3D) for offshore structural modelling.

Strong understanding of:

– Structural steel detailing

– Joint detailing

– Material Take-Offs (MTO)

– Bills of Quantities (BOQ)

– Good working knowledge of offshore structural design standards and fabrication practices.

– Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
