Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor – RT0028
Our client, a leading industrial operator in the energy sector are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance execution activities across a large-scale processing facility.
This role will provide frontline leadership to maintenance personnel, contractors and specialist vendors, ensuring equipment reliability, operational efficiency and the highest standards of safety performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving maintenance strategy, supporting shutdown activities and delivering continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and promote a strong safety culture across all maintenance activities.
* Supervise and develop a team of mechanical technicians and maintenance personnel.
* Ensure maintenance resources are effectively planned and deployed to support operational requirements.
* Manage the execution of preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities.
* Support workforce competency development, training and succession planning.
* Coordinate activities with other maintenance disciplines including Electrical, Instrumentation and Operations teams.
* Contribute to maintenance planning and scheduling processes to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime.
* Drive reliability improvements through root cause analysis, maintenance optimisation and best-practice execution.
* Support major shutdowns, outages and turnaround events, including planning and execution activities.
* Monitor maintenance KPIs, backlog management and compliance requirements.
* Work closely with vendors and contractors to ensure safe and efficient delivery of maintenance services.
* Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement and enhanced asset performance.
* Lead daily maintenance meetings, toolbox talks and work coordination activities.
* Ensure tooling, equipment and maintenance resources remain fit for purpose and properly managed.
Requirements
* Significant experience in a mechanical maintenance leadership role within heavy industry, energy, petrochemical, refining, process manufacturing or a similar asset-intensive environment.
* Proven track record supervising maintenance teams and contractors.
* Strong knowledge of preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance methodologies.
* Experience supporting plant shutdowns, turnarounds or major maintenance campaigns.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation and maintenance procedures.
* Strong understanding of safety, compliance and maintenance best practices.
* Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
