Head of Construction β Offshore Decommissioning

Our client, a leading international energy organisation, is seeking an experienced Head of Construction to support the execution of large-scale offshore decommissioning and abandonment projects.
This is a senior leadership position focused on the safe and efficient decommissioning, deconstruction and abandonment of offshore oil & gas facilities, ensuring all activities are delivered in accordance with approved engineering methodologies, project schedules, environmental standards and HSE requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Lead day-to-day offshore decommissioning and abandonment construction activities across assigned projects
β’ Act as the focal point between Project Management, Asset Holders, Contractors and Offshore Construction Teams
β’ Ensure execution activities are carried out in line with approved scopes of work, drawings, procedures and construction methodologies
β’ Provide technical guidance and oversight to construction supervisors and contractors throughout offshore campaigns
β’ Review and approve contractor deliverables across FEED, engineering and project execution phases
β’ Oversee offshore lifting, rigging, dismantling and removal operations involving jackets, topsides, subsea pipelines and umbilicals
β’ Ensure full compliance with industry safety, quality and environmental standards
β’ Support schedule delivery, construction planning and operational risk management across complex offshore scopes
Requirements:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural Engineering or related discipline
β’ 15+ years of construction engineering experience within offshore oil & gas projects
β’ Minimum 8 years focused on offshore decommissioning and abandonment activities
β’ Strong experience managing large-scale offshore decommissioning projects involving jackets, topsides and subsea infrastructure
β’ Hands-on offshore construction and heavy lifting experience
β’ Strong background in FEED and EPRD projects with contractor management exposure
β’ Excellent understanding of offshore engineering standards, HSE and quality requirements
β’ Ability to manage multinational contractor teams within complex offshore environments
β’ Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
