Materials and Corrosion Engineer
Our client is a leading player in the oil and gas industry, dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable energy solutions. With a strong commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and technological advancement, we are currently embarking on a major offshore project in Qatar. We are seeking a talented and experienced Materials and Corrosion Engineer to join our team.
As a Materials and Corrosion Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and longevity of critical offshore assets. You will be responsible for materials selection, corrosion management, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead materials and corrosion engineering activities during the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Engineering, Procurement, Installation, and Commissioning (EPIC) stages of an offshore megaproject.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to select appropriate materials, coatings, and corrosion control strategies.
Develop and implement corrosion monitoring and mitigation plans to safeguard the integrity of assets in harsh offshore environments.
Conduct corrosion risk assessments and provide technical expertise to address corrosion-related challenges.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations, and actively participate in audits and inspections.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the materials and corrosion discipline.
Keep informed of emerging technologies and best practices in materials and corrosion management.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant materials and corrosion engineering role within the oil and gas industry.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Materials Engineering, Corrosion Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering).
Proven experience in FEED/EPIC stages of offshore megaprojects.
Proficiency in materials selection, corrosion control, and integrity management.
Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to materials and corrosion.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
Relevant certifications or professional affiliations are a plus.
